Hi there, ive been watcing youtube farming for inspiration, and noticed a few Silver Armour farmers. One in particular was farming bosseswith it, i noticed that only the boss took damage, i was wondering if this works by it damages the foe wich youre targeting??

Any help is much appreciated

Something in the coding that targets the boss iirc. You cannot manually choose.

Nope. Like arkantos said, it has something to do with the coding.
For example, with boss farming, it will consistently target the same foe (the boss) no matter what, regadless of proximity. Same with when I FoW farm, its targets the shadow warriors, then monks, then shadow beasts, no matter where they are. If they are within range, it will use those priorities.

I think it targets depending on Level, and then other random stuff after that

No, shadow warriors are level 24 and shadow beasts level 28.
Yet in boss farming, the bosses are generally 28 and the surrounding people are 24.

So level doesn't affect it. What may affect it, however is AL.

Just to clarify... So you're saying that a foe who is out of range (nearby) of Sliver Armor will still be struck by Sliver Armor?

I always assumed that Sliver Armor will attack the first target who enters the nearby radius of the spell, and will consistently attack that target until that target leaves the radius. Then it would attack the target at the maximum distance of nearby... similar to how Lava Arrows work. Anyway...

it targets the boss first. escept for shatterstone? it seems to not like to target him. like 1 in 5 times it targets him. kinda wierd. and it wont target the onis by the scar eater.

In PvP (espacially the low level of pvp) I find it more useful this way. 2 players attack you close range, on of them takes the damage but untill he leaves the Nearby range the spell will continue hit him even if he is not the one triggering it.

I meant within range the proximity doesn't matter. And its also not whoever enters first, sliver armor will often switch if someone with a higher priority enters range.

I sliver farm with my assassin, sliver armor can sometimes switch targets, like the first few shots hits the boss than it moves on to hit another monster. Another point is, you death charge to the boss than you activate sliver armor, about 90% chance it will target the boss.

The logic behind its decision can be made clear by taking a peek under the hood, so to speak, should you know how to do such a thing.

well i have been sliver farming since a little after factions came out, and can confidently say that it targets based on proximity and level. high-level(bosses are higher than mobs)/adjacent foes are the first to feel its wrath.

Try mixing groups of mobs some time. Ie, species A, with species B. If you have a Boss of Species A, there is a chance that it will hit ALL of Species B before the Boss (though Bosses do seem to tend to be above their own species in priority, I have found an exception or two in my solo travels in Torment).

Why the hell are you using Shadow Form with Sliver Armor on a boss farmer?

Actually, why are you using an Assassin secondary, at all, for that purpose?
